Incarnation Cross & Gates - Human Design

Updated: 5 days ago

In Human Design, the incarnation cross shows the main theme in your life. It shows the main theme that permeates everything you do, like the flavor of your cooking. It's the "en-carne," the main theme you've embodied. It consists of the four most dominant gates in your body map, as shown below: Personality (sun and earth) and Design (sun and earth). The combination of these four energies forms the incarnation cross. For example, in the example below, the incarnation cross is the Left Angle Cross of Distraction (56/60 | 27/28).

The most dominant energy in an incarnation cross is the personality sun. In the example above, this is the ability to connect and inspire through storytelling with Gate 56, the top right gate.
Now I'll go through some formulas so you can create your own incarnation theme. Let's go step by step:
1st Step
Left angle crosses indicate transpersonal karma, while right angle crosses indicate individual karma. Someone with transpersonal karma wants to create good for others, while someone with individual karma inspires others with their authenticity. There are also juxtaposition crosses. Human Design calls them bonus lives or lucky lives. Even if they experience difficulties in their lives, they somehow overcome them more easily.
These are the names you might see in a bodygraph in the applications we use:
Left Angle Cross = LAX
Right Angle Cross = RAX
Juxtaposition Cross = JUX
2nd Step

You can find this quarter with the first number on your incarnation cross or the gate in the upper right of your body chart that corresponds to your personality sun. For example, in the example above, this gate is 56.
Quarter of Initiation (13-24)
The urge to start things, to initiate things.
Quarter of Civilization (2-33)
The urge to build things, to materialize by sharing intentions and desires.
Quarter of Duality (7-44)
The urge to connect, to find success through connections.
Quarter of Mutation (1-19)
The urge to grow and to support the growth of others.
4th Step
As additional information, I'm also leaving you a reference below where you can see the main theme of the incarnation crosses. This site is also a reliable source. You can see the full name of your incarnation cross when you download your bodygraph from the human design section on our website, and you can find it on the adjacent list. Note that there can be 4 different incarnation cross combinations with the same 4 gates. Therefore, the exact order of the gates is important: Personality Sun, Personality Earth, Design Sun, Design Earth. For example, the incarnation cross in the example above: Left Angle Cross of Distraction (56/60 | 27/28)
5th Step
Hoof! That's a lot of information, isn't it? Just, take it step by step, there's no need to rush. Digest it and experiment as you go. I want to remind you of the most important thing: your first step is always your energy type and authority. When you know these and proceed with that guidance, life will always guide you through your body, without you even realizing it, to the places where you will use your right gifts and therefore to your signature feeling; satisfaction, peace, success, and miracles...
