Human Design - Profiles

Updated: 5 days ago

In Human Design, profiles show your role in this life, the costume you wear, your approach to things. How you see yourself, how do others see you, what kind of behavior do people expect from you, or how are they attracted to you? We can see these information in a bodygraph with profiles. Profiles, this can be a little bit detailed, comes from the 10th gate and consist of pairwise combinations of 6 lines. One comes from the conscious side, that is how you see yourself, your mind, and the other comes from your design, that is how others see you and your subconscious, your body. The unity of these dualities forms your profile. To make it practical and not bore you, I will only write the lines one by one, and you can find your own pairwise combinations in this way.
1. Line - Investigator

1. Line shows an investigative nature. Like a detective, it delves deep into things and wants to learn everything in detail. Knowing provides safeness, a secure foundation. Here, it's important to avoid falling into the trap of perfectionism, as this can lead to inaction. Knowing enough is sufficient to take action; the rest can be learned along the way.
2. Line - Hermit

2. Line indicates a naturally gifted individual. Their talents come so naturally to them that they believe everyone possesses these, but they don't. As they receive feedback from outside, they can better see their gift. Some times, they may want to retreat into their own space and be alone. This both nourishes them and allows them to further develop their talents. Their job isn't to explain their talents; they will step onto the stage with the right invitation (by their authority) and share their talents.
3. Line - Explorer

3. Line is like an explorer. Instead of memorizing information, it learns by rolling up its sleeves and just doing. Through this intense life experience, it gains vast experience. It has an agile, strong, and resilient nature. It knows very well what truly works and what doesn't. It progresses through life's experiences.
4. Line - Social

4. Line indicates a very social nature. Opportunities, jobs, relationships, and clients all come through their network. One day their phone might ring, and they might say, "I'm calling because of someone's referral." They have sensitive and trust-based relationships. For example, even when a customer requests their service, they might want to get to know them beforehand, perhaps with a coffee. Being in a reliable and comfortable environment is important to them. If they aren't in such an environment, it's a sign that they need to build their own network.
5. Line - General

5. Line character carries a heroic energy, like a general. They reach out and support people with practical solutions. All the solutions they share are practical and clear solutions that they have previously tested and filtered themselves. It's important to note that they shouldn't unnecessarily burden others' expectations simply because they can do it. Their job isn't to save everyone, but to reach out to the right people.
6. Line - Role Model

6. Line shows a role model lifestyle. It will be a 3-stage life experience: The first 30 years will be an intense life experience like the 3rd Line. The next 20 years they begin to make sense and process those experiences. By the age of 50, they become a role model, inspiring people with just the way they live and pushing others to live life in a wonderful way. They are designed to live the life and relationship of their dreams. This magnificent way of living one's life is their spontaneous service to the whole.
In Human Design, profiles can also provide insights into human interactions. For example, those with the same number in their profiles usually get along better and understand each other more easily. Of course, these are not strict rules. The advice in Human Design is valid both literally and metaphorically.
